  1. The real lesson to learn is to never follow any Tesla cars too close because those cars will randomly apply full brakes. In fact, not following any cars too closely would prevent most crashes in general.

  2. I fully believe that Tesla isn't using that lousy 1D radar in any of their cars. 1D radar cannot differentiate traffic signs from bridges or fully stopped cars. In the old days, Tesla crashed with fully stopped firetruck exactly because they tried to use the 1D radar. I think future is either fully camera based or some kind of AESA radar, but those things are hugely expensive right now and even lidar would a budget version compared to those. And even lidar is too expensive to put in all cars.
