  2. I would argue this is the result of too free capitalism. When companies grow big enough (e.g. Samsung and Apple) and there's no legislation to prevent it, they will order the parts for their devices with a contract that prevents the OEM from selling similar parts to anybody else. And because that's good for their (Apple and Samsung) business, they will keep doing that despite the fact that it's more expensive to the society and the environment. The fact that it's worse for the society should be big enough reason to prevent this kind of behavior and make the part of the contract that prevents selling the spare parts to 3rd parties null and void. This far the lobbyists of big corporations (e.g. Apple and Samsung) have won the battle. Right to repair movement is a big step towards fixing this and I hope they can win the war instead of some battles.
