  1. Exactly this! Everybody makes mistakes every now and then. The adult behavior is take take responsibility for your own mistakes and try to make better work in future.

  2. I'm a bit of a Elon Musk fan for the stuff that he has already done. The way he has changed (via his business, not he personally!) launching stuff to space and EV car manufacturing is nothing short of miraculous. That doesn't mean that I trust that anything he says about future is even close to reality. It would be nice if stuff he speaks about today were actually true one day even if the time estimates he gives are off at least 7x (e.g. launching stuff to space being 100x cheaper per kilogram than SpaceX is doing now, or Tesla car batteries actually having warranty to 500000 km to really do something else but lip-service about the battery lifetime, or FSD actually being better than even average US driver which is pretty low bar already). However, I really don't understand why he bought Twitter. And never ever purchase anything running any software that doesn't "yet" work but you get a promise that if you buy it now, it "will be fixed" in the future. I write software for living and I know for a fact that management will not know if they're going to change their priorities next week. The software you're currently writing may not be published, ever.
