I think instead of "dislike" Youtube should have two buttons: "I disagree" and "This video was so low quality that I wish I hadn't wasted my time with it" (obviously shorter label because that would be insanely long button). There's no need for a button "I hate this content creator". I think it would be more healthy for the content creators, too, because the button is no longer about hate but simple feedback. I push the "like" button if I consider the video valuable on the platform. If I think that having the video on Youtube is better than not having it, I click like. That also means that I'll click the like button on videos where I disagree with the opinions in the video but the video explains the views of the content creator and the difference is more like opinion – I think it's great that different views can be publicly shown and can co-exist on Youtube. I only dislike stuff that shows no effort, are spam or contain obvious lies. All these deserve a dislike in current implementation.
