  1. 6:10 This is where GDPR would help but that's only an EU thing so far. That said, GDPR is far from perfect and the mandatory pre-emptive paper trail it requires in practice causes extra expenses to all companies because of extra bureaucracy even if you never mishandle any personal data. Also the rules for what's personal information in GDPR are unclear which also causes a lot of problems. Some interpretations of the wording suggest that anything that can be matched to a person in the future using additional data collected in the future is considered part of personal information today! So to correctly identify personal information today, you have to have a working crystal ball to know if future improvements in AI systems allow detecting somebody based on word order or timestamp or whatever information you might have today. This would be obviously insane but the legislation has been written so poorly that this is arguable position considering the letter of the law.
