It baffles my mind that practically all cars use CAN-BUS (naming differs depending on brand, though) where a single twisted pair data wiring is shared by all devices and the wiring must have exactly two working terminating resistors to avoid having too much noise in the signaling. It's basically similar to "thin etherned" that was deprecated for computer networks around year 1999 for the exactly same issues: a single misbehaving device will take down the whole network and makes even debugging the issue really hard because all signaling is bad.
