The only potential problem I can see is that the inner diameter of the brass fitting is smaller than the original nozzle and if the circulation pump is not high enough quality, the extra backpressure from the smaller opening could cause it to fail sooner. Hopefully that can be officially replaced without replacing the whole battery!

And I agree on voting with your wallet instead of ideology. It really doesn't matter if some green product is actually green – if it's expensive, that money goes to somebody and that individual may use that money to travel around the world in jets. Or anything else that's non-green. If you get something that's not expensive (e.g. fix Tesla battery instead of replacing whole battery because of a single nozzle) there's a very high probability that it's better overall. That said, we need suitable taxes on mining and oil drilling to adjust the costs of non-renevable material so show in the price tag.

@dnyalslg If you try to fix any cars you'll find that *every car manufacturer is lacking attention to detail*. Maybe Koenigsegg might be an exception but even their cheapest models are a bit above my budget.

I already wrote earlier that VAG does the same thing with VNT turbo parts. They do not sell the turbo vacuum controller alone but just a part of $1500 turbo kit. Of course, the vacuum controller is the part that fails 99% of the time. Luckily there're 3rd party manufacturers that are willing to sell compatible controller for $35.

VAG (VW, Audi, Skoda and Seat) cars have turbo with vacuum controller where the vacuum controller is not officially sold alone by VAG but only as a kit with the whole turbo. Fortunately 3rd parties make working clones so you can get replacement part for $30 instead of paying $1500 for the new turbo kit. Tesla needs something similar.

I think the Tesla line should have been "We couldn't save the baby, because there was a wrist sprain, so we need to recycle him. How about we look some new replacement babies here?"

If they can sell more full battery packs and the customer pays, why would Tesla do anything to fix the "problem"?
