I would say this speech was an example what feminism should look like – way too often people that claim to be feminists actually want something else but treating men and women equal.

@apmgold If I've have understood correctly, the problem is that there are no safe places to ride with e-bike. An average car driver will not notice your e-bike so driving in the middle of cars is dangerous. And there's no sidewalks or bicycle ways anywhere. Compare this to Europe where there's often dedicated (narrow) lane for bicycles.

... and the manufacturer (being in monopoly position for the repairs) tells you that replacing that flat tire costs about half the price of the new car. And the customer service worker gets a raise if they can successfully sell you a new car instead of repairing that flat tire. And I'm not even joking. Apple is pricing technically easy repairs sky high because they have monopoly for the required parts so there's no competition.

@aaronanderson6958 I have to agree that this was too fast spaced for non-experts in the audience. It was easy to follow for me but I do software design for living and mechanical design as a hobby. I've communicated with many enough layman people about technical details that I know when information overload is a high risk. As for the actual content she said I have nothing to complain. I would have liked to have a point about schematics being documentation, not trade secrets or source code but that would have required even faster speech to fit in the tiny time slot she was given.
