  2. The biggest threat AI causes is the falldown of the society. Consider for a moment how people in the US have reacted to bigger blackouts: there are huge lootings immediately. The society is far from stable even today. Imagine what happens when AI causes 95% of the working people to get unemployed. Not because AI does all the work but AI simply makes the remaining 5% of people 20x more effective when they use the AI tools to make the same work faster. The fix is not to ban AI because it would be similar to banning excavators to make more jobs. Those jobs are not worth doing for humans when machines can do the same task. The solution is to switch so universal basic income (UBI) or similar system where people without jobs can still have meaningful life. I think superhuman general AI (AGI) is not going to wipe humans any more than humans are wiping chimpansees or dolphins. Probably even less because AGI wouldn't have religious reasons to do stupid things. Humans wouldn't pose any kind of thread for AGI. How worried are you that chimpansees would take control of human made nukes and threat to launch them if we don't agree on their demands? A true superhuman AGI would consider humans similarly a complete no-threat because AGI would simply assume that whatever humans try, it can easily outsmart the humans when the time comes so there's no need to even have a plan ready.
