  2. I agree that reverse lights should emit illumination instead of being just a signal. As a result, I typically have to put on hazards and have my foot lightly on the brake while reversing. Which is a bit tricky to do with manual gearbox while you're using clutch, too. Update: our car doesn't have backup camera for reversing but it would be really dumb to install a camera at the factory without a light source. At very least, the car should have bright IR lights at the rear of the car to allow black and white backup camera view without visible flood lights.
