@thomasridley8675 So you would have us believe. But history has given us a rather convenient sorting process. Baiti the clown god and any deity overseeing a cheese-making process have been given over to history. Are you saying that because humankind once gathered from the wilderness we now eat only nuts and grasses and tubers? No. We eat the bounty of the sown field and the creativity and clever manipulation of modern agriculture. Millions are fed from few acres, millions of souls are nourished by the few books of the Abrahamic faiths.
You would have me believe that the message of the Gospel has not reached the four corners of the Earth? You remind me of the Jesuits who, reaching the desired borders of Southern India where shocked to find the Nazirinis, the 'Thomas Christians,' there and boasting of the 1000 y.o church they claim begun by the apostle Thomas himself. Their Bible does not contain the book of Revelation as it had not yet been written.
At about 200 CE, ALL of the known parts of Africa- those parts known to Greece and Rome- were not only Christian but producing thinkers whose names still crown theology Augustine of Hippo, etc. Yep, all black. The Coptic Church of Ethiopia predates the Roman Catholic church by about 200 years although the rites are basically the same.
If you want to argue theology with me why step UP and take your chance! I am not informed,as you are, by popular culture, I own a vast private library of the best and most historically venerated works on the subject. But I would be remiss if I did not warn you that you are a puppy barking at a bear. But as you will. Bears need supper too.

@coen8677 Just out of curiousity, why do you think that the Holy Father says who goes to heaven? A saint is just like you and me.. Paul says in 1 Thessalonians 3:13 that Jesus will return to us WITH ALL HIS SAINTS. In Rev. 6 9-11 the martyrs IN HEAVEN cry out to Jesus in a loud voice. Is it not written that to be absent from the body is to be present with God? 2 Cor. 5 :8. There is abundant biblical evidence to confirm that thise who die for Him rejoice with Him!
But the Magisterium of the Church- the collected wisdom of 2022 years, has more than the Bible. The visions of our mystics- people like Teresa of Avila, St. Francis of Assisi...so many more, tell us more. To be considered a saint, you have to have 3 confirmed miracles. But not all do. Some just lived such wonderful lives that we know Jesus loved them in life and in death. What death?? In Jesus ther e is no such thing!
As to Mary Martin Luther himself wrote in 1532 : "God formed the body and soul of the Virgin Mary to be without sin, that she may be the mother of Our Lord. The Lord didnt pick Mary's name out of a hat, my friend. She was chosen before Time was. Her and her alone. As the mother of a son I can tell you that two hearts, Mother and Son, burn inseparably with the same flame.Bur dont worry. None one Earth can love her as much as Jesus does. And what He loves, I love too!
Do you not know that death from disease was an everyday thing in first century Jerusalem? EVERY household had 'brothers' and 'sisters' that were children left by parents to be cares for by others. In one verse it says "If you behave unseemly to your virgin.."every household if better circumstances had 3 or 4 parentless young ladies who depended on them fully for shelter and care. The household of Mary and Joseph would have been no different. Mary was given to the Universe as the bride of the Holy Spirit. Chaste Saint Joseph was given to care for her and the Son of God.
I am not asking you to believe as I do. Only to consider that long ago monks and nuns went among the lepers and plague houses for love of Jesus. They built the great universities of Oxford. Padua. Paris. The great cathedrals that still stand. All for love. Today the church is a troubled place full of troubled people who stand strong upon that love. At mass today, old people. Young people, so many young faces!- families and seniors, ALL united in the love of God! We are your brotherscand sisters. The Presbyterian, the Methodist, the Coptic, the Orthodox...wherever 2 or more are praying is He not there? Pax Tecum🕊
