People like her believe that burying themselves in the past will ensure that they don't have to face a changing world and that isnt true. We as a civilized nation acknowledge that transgender people have the right to be who they are. Why people are afraid of about .03% of entire population of hundreds of millions is beyond me. At the end of the day she is embarrased that her daughter dosent make HER look good. Not a good mother at all.

YOUR job is kindness. Respect. Forbearance. Gentleness. Humanity. Romans 11 tells you to HONOR the laws of your nation. If this person is within their rights to be who they are then you are bound to respect these rights. YOU may not become a trans person by your god's laws. But respect and humane behavior carry no penalty.

Here's the deal: As to her daughter not being a biological woman, true. But that is not the point. This mother, from the top of her fake hair to the religious objections based on a book about talking donkeys, talking snakes, giants, witches, unicorns, basilisks and cockatrices and flying people, has made decisions about her life that do not strictly align with empirical reality. And that is ok. She needs to extend the same respect to her progeny.

@bidohalcyon2715 The mother has no choice but to accept it. She does not have to approve of it. However if her mother us as politically savvy as she claims to be than she KNOWS that her daughter has the Constitutinal right to define herself as a woman. Her only other choice is to disown her child.

This is awful. As a christian, a Roman Catholic in fact, our church is doing its best to enter a new millenium full of hope, charity, justice and peace towards ALL humanity. And to hear the hatred, the bigotry, the disrespect towards these people- who make up such a TINY segment of our population, is dissappinting and disheartening. The Holy Father is a loving man, trying his best to be inclusive in extending Gods love to all But he has his work cut out for him. Hundreds of years of ignorance and misinformation can not be overcome in a year or even a decade. All we can do is pray, educate and show our love. Our respect. Our understanding that we refuse to let the word kill the Spirit of a loving God.

You know, about 1998 or so my son was in his jr.year in HS. He had a couple of friends who were gay. These 2 boys sat quietly eating their lunch while a couple of jocks thru garbage at them. Mybson gotvup and sat with them. One of the young men smiled and said " Its ok Jake. We know you're our friend. You don't have to sit here and get crapped on." But my son said "Hey man, you guys are my friends. And I I want those jock corksoapers to know that." And upon that day, I realized that for all my faults, I had been a good parent.

At what point do you realize that you have no moral leg to stand on when these people are 1) 100% within their rights as human beings to define themselves 2) 100% protected by the Constitution and federal and state laws AGAINST harrasment and discrimination 3) are asking for NOTHING but the respect accorded to ANY human being. You need ti reexamine this term indoctrination. Your desire to impose an outdated and barbaric code of ethics on those who have no interest in it is the reason why young people like this young trans woman go public. When their own nearest family turn against them it is shows like these that prevent drug addiction, alcoholism and suicide by extending a message of solidarity and love. This woman will someday regret the treatment she gave her own child whose only fault was the desire to synchronize her body and her brain.

For being labeled, ridiculed and hurt? What on earth could they possibly be guilty of??? And don't give me some iron-age nonsense concocted by nomadic goat herders. It is 'unnatural' to travel at 60 miles an hour. It is 'unnatural' to inject artficial immunogens into your body, or to affix a strip of glass to your faceso that you can have 20/20 vision. Ten thousand 'unnatural' thing you do every day, do not hypocritically call out a total stranger for something that affects you not in the least. As the young folks say, "haters gonna hate " and a good portion of these haters are so frustrated in their own lives that they cannot bear to see someone with the courage to live authentically.

I dont think there is ANYONE stupid enough to judge all transexuals by the actions of one (but I could be wrong) Since there are biological females especially recording artists who act the same way, this young person is probably copying them. As for me, I am far too confident a woman to be offended by the actions of a total stranger. That is just ridiculous, I have REAL problems I have to attend to.

Let me tell you what my research has taught me. Among the Iriqouis of North America some men lived as women. They were called huinte and were honored members of the community. Among the Chinese certain members of the court were effeminate men and dressed as women. An ancient Japanese emperor fell so much in love with a 'Chysanthymum Boy' that the boy was banished fearing the Emperor would not produce issue! In modern Japan these young men are spoken of 'as taking the path of love' and often are the caretakers of temples. Every time, every place, every society has had transgender people. And let me warn you. if you do ANYTHING to harass these people you will be on the wrong side of the law. Respect if you want respect in return.

Fundamentalism is why I became a Roman Catholic. The Bible is a wonnderful, inspired, beautiful book but it was never meant to supplant God inspired wisdom. We know that birth defects are not caused by sin. Some people are born different. Thesr people deserve our RESPECT and the same whole -hearted Christian love you would give anyone. It gave us the inquisition and witch burning. The entire magisterium (accumulated knowledge) of the church informs us. You are about 800 years behind us We learned ( after almost burning Galileo) that the Bible is a source of beautiful wisdom, not scientific fact. We stopped using the Word to kill the Spirit. When will you? * Genesis is not to be taken literally. Evolution happened.

They do not need my approval. Just my love. I made that commitment before the child was born. This woman, like myself is a Republican. We STRONGLY believe in the Constitution. This precious document is the foundation of our freedom. And it gives EVERY CITIZEN who operates within the law the freedom to be who they define themselves to be. As long as you are not a criminal, paying your taxes or interfering with the rights of another human being, you are free to be who you are, you do not need my approval. This young transwoman is going to have to accept that their birth mother may never accept this trasitition which is also HER right. My suggestion is that she form a mother-daughter bond with an older trans-woman to take the place of theirvmother.

There is NOTHING in the fields of logic or mathematics that define human freedom.
