A Roman Catholic nun is a daughter of the chirch. I expect her to see thru the eyes of the RCC, not that ofva sovial service worker. Wheras I am not religious at all, I do understand her point of view. She did not ask for the world's adulation. Her main goal was NOT human happiness it was obedience to Christ If you dont understand that to a nun, sharing in Christs suffering is the greatest possible honor than most of her life wont make sense to you.

@thats__dark9927 ? Seriously? Think of all the people she fed and clothed with that money! A nun has no personal property. She takes a vow of poverty. All the notiriety helped her bring attention to the poor of Kaligata.

@thats__dark9927 When you multiply those people by tens of thousands better a small bottle than no bottle! You cant think that MT was living a life of luxury on donations. A nun has no property or personal possesions. She has taken a vow of poverty; if the RCC took possesion of her resources she had no say in the matter. Are you suggesting she hadva condo with a pool somewhere?

@thats__dark9927 That's quite the claim to make. I would really appreciate your providing some. sort of attestation and /or reference for your claims.
5
@thats__dark9927 Seriously, what reference do you have for this? Ifvthe Roman Catholic Church ended up with her donations she cant be held accountable for that. As a nun she has no possessions beside her clothing and whatever few belongings fitting in a small bag. Do you have any verifiable info to the contrary?

The synoptic gospels don't agree among themselves, we can hardly agree with them. There is no historical evidence for resurrection. He was a good man. He taught good things. But that is it. Most people are willing to agree that the bible has reasonably good geographical and historical evidence. But the greater the claim, the greater the evidence needed.

@siddarth3955 Sir her mission was to help the poor of Calcutta die with dignity. She was a catholic nun. To her, death was but a door to anither life. People can judge the Hindu religion for bathing in the Ganges that has dead bodies floating in it, but many people of India believe that 'man cannot pollute the Ganges'. Customs such as the famous 'rat temple' and. other things that Westerners see-do we have the right to judge? She didnt come to heal anyone She isnt a doctor. She came to help the dying die with dignity.

@siddarth3955 Again, she helped the dying die with dignity. No one is judging Jainism or Sihkism or the many religions of India, although if they wete religions of charity the could hav done the same: simply wash the dying, pray with them and get them out of the street. That was her mission. Her world-view was that 'death is but the door to a better life.' The suffering of the dying to her was the agony of Christ She came to tend that suffering and prepare the dying. Your view is not that of a nun from a rather backwards country. In her heart she served Christ. That eas her misdion.

@siddarth3955 You reference 'racists.' You have shown racism, religious intolerance to me and the RCC. MT did not ask for the world's attention. If she did not have it she would have gone on doing the same as always. Every worldly celebrity wanted a photo op with her and no doubt she found these perfectly groomed millionaires amusing in their childish pursuits. You have played very neatly into the hands of an author who exploits your weakness and hatred. Hatred sells much more than love. One could simply say 'She did what she thought was right and helped the hopeless to have hope for life after death." Is there one? What is the nature of the reality we live now? Is reality what we see and perceive or are we programmed to do so? How many dimensions are there? The work of Neil deGrasse Tyson and Nicholas Brouse changed my mind about God. God is not a Santa Clause. If there is a god, then God is the burning furnace of existence itself. capable of programming an entire universe. I can prove nothing. Absolutely nothing but I entertain the possibility that my finite mind is by no means the yardstick to measure a universe we have barely begun to understand.

@siddarth3955 My point sir is that your own people had not the compassion nor the decency to drag the dying out of the street. This is somehing that is neither black nor white. I am not white. Nor are the overwhelming majority of the world's 1.2 billion Roman Catholics. Like most my origin is Latin America. You cannot focus on her intense compassion because of your racism. Those who act with compassion are often berated and MT is no exception. She lived her life trying to do good. If you want to hate her, so what? Do you wash the stinking sores of those dying in the street? Do you comfort them? Are your religious beliefs so strong that you devote your life to them? Mine are not. But I do recognize that her devotion was exceptional. She is in a place now where the opinion of the world cannot reach her. But shecstill would have done the same.

@siddarth3955 Did you forget to mention that she recieved charity through the US gov? She didnt pay for it. How could she? I tell you what. Show me the wonderful palace she lived in with servants. She did not share Christ's suffering? Why don't you look into the eyes of your own people, dying in filth and of disease, truly care about them, and try not to suffer? If I know a little-very little- about this is because I fid home hospice care for 15 years. I am not a nurse, I was a CNA ( basically a servant) who washed and cleaned and fed the dying. Do you think that even in the 1st world dying is easy? I couldnt heal the dying either. I watched them die and when they do, a piece of you goes with them. So to see Christ's death in every dying person...very hard.

@akhiljames3435 I suspect that you are right but the world cannot understand devotion and vocation. I send you peace and happiness on the day of a peaceful and happy man, Francis of Assisi whose feast is today.
2
@wisteriang9491 She WAS doing acts of charity, but as obedience to Christ, not for the admiration of mankind.

Why is HC connected to so many 'accident victims' and people who commit suicide by shooting themselves in the back of the head? Seems like a Democrat thing to me.

@siddarth3955 Millions and millions that belong to the RCC.She is a nun. She has no money. She took a vow of poverty. Whatever was sent to the RCC is distributed and use worldwide. Priests are trained to be doctors, nurses, teachers, adminiteators. New churches are built old ones are repaired. She, by her vows, had her clothes and little else.

@siddarth3955 I have not disrespected your beliefs and those of your countrymen, although I have pointed out that with all your 'charity' they did nothing for those dying in the Moti Jheel. How much does it cost to sit with a dying person and keep the rats from eating their feet? How much does it cost to pray with someone? How much does enough water cost to wipe the dirt from someone's face? Obvously too much for your religions of charity. 'white messianic religion???' Christianity was brought to India in the first century by the apostle Thomas. Ask the Christians of Kerala why their bible has not the book of Revelation. It was not writtten until after he got there.
1
@siddarth3955 I don't see any point in conversing with you further. If you see no value in her work, and you are convinced by ONE book, then you are seeking bias confirmation for your own hatred. You assumed I had a 'white messiah complex'. I am not white. You called belief in a deity belief in 'Santa Clause.'. If you are seeking a way to discredit MT why do you need one book or any book? I have prepared thesis papers for money for years now and a minimum of 6 sources should be a standard. But you need nothing to confirm a bias based on hatred.
1
@wisteriang9491 Exactly You do not see the value. She did Ibexpect a Catholic nun to act and believe as a Catholic nun. Newsflash: pepple have different belief systems.
