The Chinese government is pretty happy to allow Taiwan stay as it is, no intention to intervene and alter Taiwan's political and economic system, and would even allow Taiwan to keep its army. The ''One Country Two Systems'' being implemented in Hong Kong was originally designed for Taiwan. But the current Taiwan separatist government has been changing the ''status quo'' (which most Taiwanese support), by changing school textbooks, running media campaigns and so on to remove their cultural identity and demonise China (mainland). Even though to reunify by peaceful means has always been the stance of the Chinese mainland government, but it is looking increasingly impossible.

Based on a new report (titled Regional Economic Outlook for Africa) by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Chinese loans account for just 6% of Sub-Saharan Africa's public debt. "It is noteworthy that the debt owed to China has not been the principal contributor to the region's public debt surge in the past 15 years," the IMF stated in a side report about sub-Saharan Africa's economic relations with China that it released early this month. The IMF added that China's share of the total sub-Saharan Africa external public debt rose from less than 2% before 2005 to about 17% - or US$134 billion - in 2021, saying “This figure is still a relatively small share of the region's total external debt, which stood at US$790 billion in 2021.”

@alsetalokin88 Yes, but in these Chinese ethnic autonomous regions, the cultural traditions (way of life/religious practices), languages etc. are much better preserved. Example, Mongolians (from former Outer Mongolia, part of China prior to 1947) speak Russian now whereas Mongolians in China still speak their native language.

Ben is right, the only force that wants to see war, instability even deaths and destruction in the Taiwan straits is the warmongering US government. It wants to use Taiwan as a proxy to contain China. The US doesn't care about the welfare of the people living there, nor it has ever been about these so called values (freedom, human rights, democracy and self determination). In fact, Taiwan is merely a chess piece between China and US' geopolitical rivalry, it has no say in its own destiny.

@Cc-qc7fl The UK is prob the least democratic among all European countries, the majority people here are like most other Western Europeans brainwashed to braindead or simply don't care, that's why they are not doing anything, in fact, most support the war (due to deep brainwashing) potential WW3 (China/Russia) or even nuclear war. And yeah, they love lecturing the rest of the world on freedom, democracy, human rights (religion) while they and the Americans are the worst violators of all of them.
