  1. To be brutally honest, China is not lacking of talents at home, their educational system produces 5 million STEM graduates a year, the competition is fierce. And the overseas returnees are no longer favoured like before, they still have to compete with graduates at home. The Chinese tech companies select the best of the best.

  2.  @davidlazarus67  China is a country where academic achievements and hard work is highly valued regardless gender and ethnicity, and Mao promoted women's rights with the famous saying, ''women hold up half of the sky''. There is true equality for women in the Chinese society and it is easily observed when you visit China.

  4. @Nekoeye The only reason why China has been behind in the semiconductors is it believed and participated in the Western ''free trade'' (i.e. buying Western technologies/parts), not because they are incapable creating their own.

  7.  @Nekoeye  The Chinese are perfectly capable of original innovations, they lead in tech patents filing and many fields of technologies that the US/West doesn't even have. The only reason why China has been behind in the semiconductors is it believed and participated in the Western ''free trade'' (i.e. buying Western technologies/parts), not because they are incapable creating their own. And it has been proven fast enough, Western sanctions based on racism have utterly failed.
