  1. Huawei's Ren Zhengfei said in an interview, his motivation (to overcome US sanctions) is patriotism, pure and simple, and I bet that's the motto instilled to the Huawei people. He also once said he was prepared to not to see his daughter for a long time (re the kidnapping by the Canadians on US behalf). Without exaggerating, this is the Chinese spirit in time of crisis: resilience, unity and not afraid to sacrifice for the nation, btw, Ren was a former PLA soldier, he is not your average ''capitalist'' in the West.
