@ClivesChronicles China has never been interested in conquering and dominating the world, 2000 years ago the Chinese learnt the harms of internal conflicts and wars, part reason why Qin unified China. Then China built walls to keep the invaders out... China has always been an inward looking nation, never sought to expand its (cultural and/or economic) influence beyond its borders, instead foreign countries that admired ancient Chinese culture made their visits through trade routes, they loved Chinese goods too... As you mentioned Zheng He explored Asia and parts of Africa but never sought to conquer foreign lands and people. All Chinese local beliefs promoted the idea ''Do not do to others what you do not want done to yourself'', i.e. never to impose its own values and beliefs onto others. So, to understand what China will be like in the future, always first reference how China has behaved in the past.

@ともこともこ-k3r Qin was a ruthless ruler, I've never claimed otherwise, hence his rule was one of the shortest lived, China before Qin was in constant wars and conflicts (so bad there was a period literally called the Warring States). So bad, Confucius and a number of other philosophers emerged and started to reflect from that period of chaos and instability. Your narrative about Zheng He does not contradict with mine. China never sought to conquer lands and people. But that expedition was a one-off, and ever since that, China remained inward-looking.
