I don't understand why when other countries shutting everything down completely to stamp out the virus which I think is doable, the UK is only slowing the spread but nevertheless continue to let it spread in a prolonged period ending up exporting the virus to other countries unless they bar the British from coming in.

  3.  @barrychung11  Yeah UK's not testing is just to save money, the UK gov put money first people after, yes the UK has given up, you are right, so sad! And they only ask people to stay home for 7 days instead of 14 against WHO's advice and the standard practice of all other countries, again to save money!

Cut the social gathering large or small but still keeping the school open, this doesn't make sense as school is a perfect ground for spreading especially when children probably belong to the most asymptomatic group of spreaders, so they will continue passing the virus onto the parents in the house who are working from home for example or grandparents who are isolating.

  5. Yes, you got that idea right that is what I think too, all or nothing, but remember they still want '' herd immunity'' even they deny it. They still want everyone to get it but in a pace where NHS can cope.

Problem is how long this delay phase to suit the NHS capacity will have to last, if it last for 6 months or a year and the virus is still spreading, but just in a slower pace, that means they are still looking to achieve the ''herd immunity'' till the vaccine comes out, this prolonged period of social distancing is really going to take a toll on most people and businesses, so personally I'd rather prefer relatively shorter quarantine time (shut down) and then getting back to normal life like what China is doing.
