  1. Oh the good old days when the British empire ''free traded'' opium to the Chinese. The West had never complained about the right type of (cheap) Chinese goods ''flooding'' into their market, because the more cheap Chinese goods are, the more beneficial it is to their consumers, and Western retailers too, as they always put a large markup on sale prices. But now, they have a problem when they are out competed on products/industries China leads in technology. The West never believed in so called free trade, they've always practiced protectionism. On the contrary, China is the true believer of free trade.

  3.  @nathanolson3135  Did China raise tariffs on Australian goods as a counter measure to Australian gov't unfounded hostility blindly following the US foreign policy, when the Australians are fully aware that China is their biggest buyer and trading partner, that it is very important they maintain a good (trading) relationship with China. You are the one who bought US propaganda wholesale, accusing China ''economic coercion'' which is a through and through US gov't talking point. In reality, China never takes such measures in the first place unless it is to retaliate provocative US/Western sanctions/trade tariffs.

  4.  @verynice5574  Lol, I can also Google about Taiwan, and it tells me it is an independent country. What's your point? Every country has tariffs for imports, however China follows the WTO rules as a member, the US' unilateral imposition of 100% tariffs is protectionism, get yourself educated.

It is funny, the West has been using ''China's CO2 emission issue'' to demonise China, but itself hasn't done nearly enough to cut down its own emission, now China have move onto environmentally friendly transportations, and the West complains about it. Do they care about the environment or not?
