Well I'd say your the only mechanic I ever heard of that would eat a $200.00 part just because made a wrong guess, I wish you wasn't 2000 miles away, or there was more brain surgeons like you....... Two years ago on my 04 Liberty I had to buy a used $300 transfer case plus $200.00 for installment, because my mechanic thought, that was making the clunking noise, instead it was a $300.00 front drive shaft.......
