@PhilBagels English letters O and l look like numerals too. And Russian letters О, З, Ч, Б, sometimes small д in the shape g. And the letters S and Z look some like 5 and 2.

@susanwestern6434 The Cyrillic letter with the KH sound is Х. Its shape is equal to Latin X. Its sound is voiceless velar fricative. It is not K because K is not fricative. It is close to H, and often heard as H and vice versa. When a Russian said about Химфак /Khimfak/ (Chemistry faculty), an English speaker said than it is wrong, the right way to say is "fuck him". The letter that looks like a star is Ж. Its sound is ZH like S in "visual", "measure", "pleasure", "decision". The Russian word "вижу" /vizhu/ means "I see".

@Muzer0 Spar is a British corner shop chain I don't understand the clause. Despite all words except spar are understandable. Either corner shops were join to a chain, or a shop has a chain at its corner.

The most frequent letters in Russian are О, А, Е. Their shape is the same as the corresponding Latin letters. Though in Polish the Russian E is usually spelled as IE.

What happens if every speaker will read all words as they written? Of course it is impossible because the letter j has different sound in different language, mostly [j] as y in yes.
