@eoungbyul378 Not cool. Despite I could learn Ukrainian, I didn't know the difference between "i" and "и" in Ukrainian, and read them both as [i]. Ukrainian and Russian are similar language, despite certain difference. Many words are identical, many words have different stress position (вода, хочу), there are words which are only ukrainian, but all russians know them (хлопци, мова, червоний); there are words, which russians mostly don't know (взагалi, занатто, вилупати), there are words with different meaning (U. гарбуз vs R. арбуз = U. ковун). Many words differ almost by ending only (R. "-ние" = U. "-ння"). Now I show two lines from a poem, which was printed in "Barvinok" (in 1975 or near) and russian translate of them.
U: Бурий ведмiдь в скрипку грає.
R: Бурый медведь на скрипке играет.
(E: The brown bear plays the violin.)
U: А сорока-бiлобока пiшла танцювати.
R: А сорока-белобока пошла танцевать.
(E: And the white-sided magpie went to dance.)
I can't answer whether I can understand what an Ukrainian is saying when me listen to, because didn't listen to Ukrainians enough.
