  1. In the early 2000s I remember Compaq only as a low-end PC supplier, one you wouldn't want to buy from as a power user. Ironically that was when I was on the lookout for a new PC after my 90s IBM PC had become obsolete. The previous video and this one are the first time I hear of Compaq as a world-leading computer company.

  2. Further HDD growth would also be great for the consumer in the SSD space. There is no fundamental constraint preventing 32 TB SSD, for example. It requires more RnD investment, and SSD companies have no reason to hire more teams to speed up development, as long as HDDs have basically reached their capacity limit, and SSDs already dominate the consumer space. If HDDs indisputably regain the value-for-money lead again, we could also see huge SSDs coming to consumers. It could even be something in-between, like more bits per cell, which is slower and less reliable, but a relatively easy boost to SSD volumes.
