  1. Further HDD growth would also be great for the consumer in the SSD space. There is no fundamental constraint preventing 32 TB SSD, for example. It requires more RnD investment, and SSD companies have no reason to hire more teams to speed up development, as long as HDDs have basically reached their capacity limit, and SSDs already dominate the consumer space. If HDDs indisputably regain the value-for-money lead again, we could also see huge SSDs coming to consumers. It could even be something in-between, like more bits per cell, which is slower and less reliable, but a relatively easy boost to SSD volumes.
