Yes, you are the only one who found this amusing video kind of amusing, Sheryl.

Much love Green for being compelled to respond to these seemingly obligatory "Am I the only one who [something that makes zero sense following that preface]" with biting sarcasm. I swear it seems like every video has one of these comments near the top! Rarely do I ever see "Am I the only one who didn't find this at all amusing" or something that would actually make sense. Also, it's cousin "Is it just me or..." is pretty dumb but not so often abused.

I think people should have to live through at least six generations before making inherently comparitive statements about today's. I used to associate the "kids of today" fallacy with grumpy old people but in the past ten years I've seen it far more prevalent from those in their late teens. Like somehow a 19 year old can meaningfully comment on 'people today' when their entire memory spans 15/16 years and only the most recent 8 or so can hope to contain reliable observations on the society surrounding them. You know nothing of "this generation" - there are far too many individuals and far too many variables involved for one person's perspective to be worth anything. You just can't get a true reading of an entire generation, whatever reaches your tiny self is just a handful of sand in a desert. This isn't just directed at you, so I don't care if you don't care, it's directed to everybody who says such things (and the 0.8% of them who'd ever read this far).
