The thing is, as soon as I read that an adult had called the police on an 8 year old kid for selling water, I 'knew' the child was going to be black. I didn't know whether the adult was going to be white (I assumed she wouldn't also be black but her ethnicity wasn't the key variable) but the child had to be black because that's what triggers the 'this is a criminal matter' response. I can only speculate but I just cannot imagine even the cuntiest woman seeing an equally cute little white girl and thinking "this is a criminal matter, I need to get the police involved". There can be plenty of stories of people doing something shameful where based on the nature of it I think "Oh God, they're going to be trasy black people aren't they?" but the reason this is worse and the difference between those things is that in these stories it's an innocent party being treated as criminal. It's a majority/minority matter - it's about numbers and proportions; if there are fewer of you then you're more likely to be seen as your 'group' than as a unique individual - doesn't matter whether it's sexual orientation, disability etc. The less a person is perceived and received as a complex and unknown individual and more as 'a black person', the more they're going to be reacted to the way they think makes sense to react to 'a black person' instead of 'this person'.

I'm "crying" but you're not. Got it. You can make assertions about the woman's tendencies ("just one of them fools") but I cannot. Got it. There's no intellectual consistency in your reply, so I'm not about to take the time to cite everything over the years that's indicated and confirmed differences in perceptions of acts and the reactions they evoke depending on the race of the person in question. You can look into it if you wish, but you don't - you opt for school playground dismissive techniques ( he's crying - not me though, I'm just talking ) and loose assertions. You don't actually want to ascertain the truth or discuss this meaningfully, so why start challenging your ideas now?

That segment temporarily won me my weekly "Wrestling IS real" arguments as a 6 year old. Might have disturbed me some but that's life.
