I'd say it's more nuanced by that, more of a case by case thing. I mean somebody's mind could be completely destroyed to the point that they're psychotic and lash out violently, or somebody's character could be shaped to a lesser degree that still allows them full control. In either case, it's more explaining than excusing in this film's case - but admittedly, we're not good at handling both and most will think any explanation is meant as an excuse.

Please don't disregard the criticism I have to give here: Your content is strong but this became unlistenable because of the intonation you use in every single sentence. I wanted to carry on but it drove me crazy after five minutes, and I can't imagine you're completely unaware of it if you've listened back. It's great that there's so much great amateur content out there, but I really think all content creators should take cues from professionals in television and radio who take their vocal narration seriously and make sure it's kept to a passable standard. Most people won't take the time to notify you of this, and those lucky enough to be deaf to it will wrongly think it's insignificant, but I guarantee you you're turning away a chunk of potential supporters who just tap out after hearing it. Everybody knows to fix sound issues, vocal issues are just as important.

Wait a minute, how can it ever be known if most stalkers eventually act on their fantasies? The only stalkers we could possibly be aware of are the ones that do - if anybody fantasies about stalking but doesn't stalk anyone, we wouldn't know they're having those fantasies unless they made it known. Obviously most people who fantasise about stalking aren't going to make that known, so we can never know how many people act on their fantasies. Just thought that was a pretty clumsy thing to throw in there so matter of factly.
