I recently had vit. D deficiency and was SO exhausted all the time! And my hair was falling out in handfuls too. Turns out you need D for mithochondria to synthesise ATP which is the aminoacid that gives you energy. And I was low in iron too. The underlying issue was a uterine fibroid that caused very heavy periods. It was operated on a week ago and my energy is returning.

@lefroste6370 Oh, right, it isn't.

I have episodes of gastritis occasionally myself. Isn't the cause of it that your stomach lining loses it's prostaglandin producing function so there is no protection between the lining and the acid. So instead of acid reducing meds shouldn't they give you the ones that stimulate the production of prostaglandins.

Doesn't the fact that you cannot get all the nutrients you need from the food as it is tell you that we were not meant to be vegans?
1
@Novenae_CCG We have not evolved to go without vit. B12 though. Yet. So my assertion is correct.
1
@Lilly-Gorney Yeah, SUPPLEMENTED is the key word. You are not getting all you need from the food alone. So my argument still stands.
1
@zenovanditzhuijzen I wouldn't be so sure. After all you need to take supplements. And those supplements need to be manufactured. And packaged. And the packaging needs to be manufactured too. So all that manufacturing DOES requre energy and resources, maybe as much and even more than meat industry does. So in the end veganism does not solve the problem. Yeah, forgot to mention the transportation of those supplements to warehouses/retailers/consumers. Hardly a zero carbon endeavor either.
1
@sarahjo9975 Well, it doesn't change the fact that vegans usually take multiple supplements? Also is vit B 12 in those sources bioavalable?
1
@Novenae_CCG We've evolved to need vit B12 in our diets. And our modern lifestyle doesn't change the fact.
1
@Lilly-Gorney That's different because diabetes is a medical issue that you didn't choose. Diet is largely and choice provided you have the means and food access.
1
@Novenae_CCG I commented because I could. That's what the comment section is for.
1
@Novenae_CCG People make whatever comments they like, not the ones you would like them to. So, in short, I could and so I did.
1
@Novenae_CCG You don't understand, do you? People comment what THEY want to comment, not what YOU want them to. Can't tell people what to comment. Also if you post a comment on YT you can expect to get some replies you don't like. If you are too sensitive for that then don't leave comments at all. And I'm not trying to stop you from being a vegan, simply expressing my opinion. It's not like I have any power to make you eat meat even if I tried. So what are you so worked up about? People will say things you don't want to hear, that's life. Deal with it.
1
@Novenae_CCG It was a RHETORICAL question! How is that you lived your whole life without knowing the difference between asking a question and a rhetorical question. R q is when you are making a statement but do it in a form of a question! Which is not the same as actually asking something!
1
@Novenae_CCG Who cares? Why does it bother you so much? It's INTERNET for Pete's sake! Everyone says what they want! Why are you commenting if the replies bother you so much? Why not just leave it alone?
1
@Novenae_CCG Yeah, and you won't leave it alone. Like it's a life or death matter. Who cares? People say all kinds of things all the time. Don't agree, fine. Just move on.
