  2. As per Dr. Pipes's explanation, the request was to "remove Mr. Çelik from the program". The Middle East Forum agreed to that request and then complied with it to the letter. No conditions were changed. I go to conferences all the time, and at every single conference I go to, many things are said that are not "in the program". I'm satisfied that this was not a deception, but rather that the request that was made was ill-formulated. Too bad about that, but I'm happy that it meant Mr. Çelik got to have his say.
