Obama recently addressed AOC and all Dems in Congress. He told them it's ok to have big ideas. But you better be able to explain how to pay for them. Two days later, AOC was again defending a unicorn policy and insulting our intelligence. She's clearly unable to take a hint... and is helping the GOP every time she opens her mouth. Even Whoopi Goldberg has told her to shut up and learn.

I wonder if SNL will parody AOC's hand movements, facial expressions, voice, ideas, etc? Or would that provide too much political balance in their "satire"?

@davidbaron9355 ..Good point. And on the national debt topic, it's estimated another Dem unicorn policy, free medicare for all, will cost 30 $trillion over 10 years. Forget doubling the debt...how about tripling it. Sanders and the Dems would ruin the country if elected in 2020. But Dem voters hear "free" and they'll support it.

@linusmlgtips2123 ..Agree. I think "general ideas" belong in a brainstorming session...not the floor of Congress. The 'velociraptor' idea put forward by the Reps in rebuttal makes more sense than the GND.

If SNL doesn't parody her hand movements, voice, facial expressions etc we'll know just how politically biased they are.

@chrisreed4065 .Not sure where you get the $36 trillion number. In 2018 we spent about 1.1 $trillion on healthcare programs (medicare, medicaid and veterans) and various subsidies. I agree with you 100% the current system needs to be fixed. The unconstitutional ACA clearly isn't working for everyone. The countries with universal "free" healthcare have much higher overall tax rates than America. In some cases, such as Denmark, the overall tax burden is almost double ours. You won't be able to find a single country with universal healthcare that doesn't pay significantly more in overall taxes. And/or.. they have massive healthcare subsidies using federal dollars. In many cases paid to private companies. A fundamental question people need to ask themselves is whether they want their tax dollars to go to free healthcare for certain groups who don't pay taxes. An example would be new immigrants and their "chain immigration" family members (often seniors) who haven't spent a dime in US taxes in their life.. but will have access to free care. Some may be ok with such a program. Many won't be. There's no doubt we have major issues with our current private/public model, including massive overcharges for certain procedures on the public side (let those using private services pay whatever they want) and ridiculous drug and administrative costs. We need far more regulation of these areas. As Trump famously said: "Who knew healthcare could be so complicated". There's no easy solution. I think we need to keep it simple and focus on the low hanging fruit rather than a complete overhaul.

Take out the ridiculous, misplaced reference to "God", and you've got a great comment (superstition has no place in serious topics). You're right,...climate change and weather patterns have always changed. For over 4 billion years in fact. While humanity needs to be far more responsible globally, climate change will occur regardless of what we do. There's many factors completely beyond our control..such as solar energy, volcanoes, natural changes to the earth's axial tilt, tectonics, etc etc.

Gene Lehman ..No offence taken. It’s just illogical to include superstition in such a topic. It’s exactly like referring to your daily horoscope. And I must correct you...it’s nonsensical to suggest “everyone” will learn if a God story (pick one) is real. Those who aren’t afflicted with the God delusion already know. Just like we know the Tooth Fairy isn’t real. More importantly, I congratulate you for noting many scientific principles and implying you know the earth has been undergoing natural climate changes for billions of years. Many religious people have been brainwashed to think otherwise. And we certainly agree on socialism and other “asinine” ideas coming from the Dems.

Yep. CNN would also use phrases like "Trump lashes out!" and "Trump explodes!"...smh

Many in her own party disagree with her approach... and her unicorn ideas. Should she 'take her gloves off" and battle them too?
