  3. That's partly correct. Switzerland's murder rate is very low despite its liberal gun laws, including allowing semi-auto assault rifles. It has about 2 million guns in a population of over 8 million. But it doesn't "require" citizens own guns. It does however require all men to be trained in the military. The Switzerland argument is one the NRA often uses to rationalize guns. But it's not even close to an apples-to-apples comparison to America's culture.
