  11.  @savvy1367  ..While it's true there's some common sense values stated in the Bible, it's a massive generalization to state its the source of morality. And such a claim ignores the egregious immorality it contains. Many Biblical statements have been (and are being) used by Christian and Catholic sects/cults to justify racism, sexism, incest, polygamy, pedophilia, and other immoral acts and crimes. For example: 1. Perversity and human trafficking condoned: "Slaves, be subject to your masters with all reverence, not only to those who are good and equitable but also to those who are perverse." (1 Peter 2:18) 2. Sex slavery condoned: "When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she will not be freed at the end of six years as the men are. If she does not please the man who bought her, he may allow her to be bought back again." Exodus 21: 7-8 3. Incest and getting drunk with dad is no problem if the world is running thin on suitable DNA donors: "And the elder said to the younger Our father is old, and there is no man left on the earth, to come in unto us after the manner of the whole earth. Come, let us make him drunk with wine, and let us lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father." 4. Virgin girl children are objects of value: "And Moses said unto them, Have ye saved all the women alive? ... Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves. Numbers 31:1-18 I could go on for pages with such quotes. In addition to the above crimes, your Bible condones murder, genocide, torture and ethnic cleansing. And remember...your God-story includes him killing off the entire human race...twice. And children are still taught this God is real?! I strongly recommend never referring to your ridiculous God story or the Bible for moral guidance. It's a fictional book that provides dangerous messages. Like the Quran (which is perhaps worse in terms of immoral teachings), the Bible is a scourge on humanity.

  12.  @savvy1367  ..I recommend you break up your comments into paragraphs. I encourage you to do some research on the history of ethics in our species. LONG before your particular God-story and fictional book there were well-documented moral and ethical principles being followed in many cultures. For example, ancient Chinese cultures were writing down basic morals and ethics thousands of years before common era (BCE) and your God-story and Bible. And ancient Sumerian, Eqyptian, Persian, Roman and Greek cultures were writing down and following basic ethical principles LONG before Christianity. Side note...At some point you should realize the Bible and your God/Jesus story is simply a copy of previous God/Prophet myths. Primarily Eqyptian, Greek, Roman and Persian stories. For example, Jesus' fictional virgin birth, crucifiction/resurrection, and many other details are carbon copies of previous stories. In the context of the hundreds of different God-delusions in our species history, the Christian/Catholic cult is as original as the Scientology cult. Back to the topic....While we can't verify exactly when we started following basic moral principles, it's presumed our rapidly evolving brain led to our understanding of the benefits of an ethical approach to others tens of thousands of years ago. We HAD to learn right from wrong to survive. Regarding your reference to the ridiculous Adam and Eve story, it's important for you to realize our species has been around for about 250,000 years. As have our close cousins on the Mammalian family tree such as Apes, Pigs, Chimps etc. While we indeed lived in caves while we migrated throughout the planet from the continent now known as Africa, those "cavemen" you mention were our Hominid ancestors, who evolved over about 10 million years. Along with Neanderthals. Some of us even have some Neanderthal DNA. And of course, if we go back further....well, suffice to say we have wisdom teeth, muscles to move our ears and a tailbone for a reason....:) I notice you didn't comment on my list of immoral teachings in the Bible. I hope you've reflected on how dangerous the book is... and how it's being used by your religion for ongoing crimes against humanity.
