The 14th Amendment speaks to citizenship. A citizen is defined as a "legally recognized subject or national of a state or commonwealth, either native or naturalized". Seems clear to me. I know the SCOTUS is simply asking the lower courts to do a better job for procedural reasons. That said, I'd love to see the rationale given by the 4 judges who approved the census question.

@Michael-yl2iq ..One would hope that's what the 4 judges who approved the question concluded. Regardless, I think it'll be eventually passed by the SCOTUS once they get the info they need. I think the focus shouldn't be on the census as much as ensuring only citizens are voting in 2020.

@Michael-yl2iq ..You're right. The Constitution requires an “actual Enumeration" of the people. (Article 1, Section 2). It appears some are getting hung up on the difference between "people" and "citizens". It's a ridiculous discussion. I
