There needs to be more discussion on a major epidemic in our country. It's called Victim Mentality.

Some are saying there's a "systemic problem" of police brutality and racism. The data says otherwise. Here's some facts to ponder: 1. There's about 700,000 cops in America. Of those, about 1,200 are charged each year with crimes, including excessive force, racism, murder, fraud, etc. That means 99.9% of cops can be deemed good cops. 2. Each year there's about 10 million arrest-related activities by cops (such as George Floyd's arrest). Using the aforementioned stat, 99.999% happen without charges to officers. Bottom line, I think the Minnesota cop's actions were criminal...and I hope he serves time. But it's ludicrous to hate all police or think there's rampant racism or brutality based on .1% of cops and .0001% of arrests. C'mon people, we're smarter than this.

Samuel Prince ..You're making an illogical assumption. You have no idea who I am or why I'm concerned. My comment is about a massive problem in our country called victim mentality. Excessive victim mentality is a very unhealthy psychological disorder and can lead to very poor decisions. Google "Signs of victim mentality". And by the way, I'm not just talking about victim mentality in the context of race. It applies to many other situations.

Phil Alexandre...Your analogy helps make my point. There are indeed some bad pilots, many who’ve made critical (and deadly) mistakes. There’s also been a few pilots who’ve deliberately crashed. There’s many new procedures in place because of it. But it would be ludicrous to say all pilots are bad...or protest in the streets based on, say, the .1 % of bad pilots, or the .0001% of flights that crash. The statistics on cops and arrest activities provide an important perspective. As I said, it’s ludicrous for people to make generalizations about a “systemic” problem when the data shows just how incredibly rare situations like George Floyd’s are. While I agree with you that there shouldn’t be any bad cops, that’s an unreasonable hope.

@dimlawss ..Absolutely. The stats on cops and arrests are important for the discussion...and the more people that learn them, the better. And you certainly won't here leftist media cite such facts. They want people to think the sky is falling and there really is a "systemic problem". There clearly isn't. Just update the # of cops in the first point. It's closer to 900,000.
