  1. California's very susceptible to earthquakes so brick and concrete structures aren't the best approach. And you're right...they've got to do a better job with fire barriers and other mitigation.

  2. And they continue to build in very risky areas. With little or no fire breaks or strict management/regulation of underbrush and urban foliage. And just watch...they'll rebuild and make all the same mistakes again.
