Zero chance Trump's convicted. History will remember the impeachment as the Democrats taking another crap on the Constitution.

I cringe whenever a politician (past or present) mentions the God delusion.

@cherylcooper5361 ..There's been hundreds of God stories in human history, none of which have proven to be true. And there's currently many Gods worshiped by about a billion Hindus (they're a polytheistic religion) whose stories predate the Jewish/Christian/ Muslim God. For example, their Gods "Krishna" and "Vishnu" have been worshipped for about a thousand years longer than your story. So the question is this: Do you think Krishna and Vishnu are real? If no, why not?

@jamesmiller3098 ...So, you're saying the multiple Gods worshipped by about a billion Hindus are "probably real"?! Wow, that's surprising. The vast majority of believers of the Jewish/Christian/Muslim God story would disagree with you. All monotheistic religions teach their believers to dismiss all other God stories. You must have slipped through the cracks. Believe me, I know all the arguments. This isn't my first chat on the delusional belief in God (or Gods).

@jamesmiller3098 ...You make a good point on the prevalence of the God delusion at the time our country was formed. But fortunately the Founders were also aware of the importance of separation of 'church and state'.

@johnnysupreme5718 ...Show me a country that bases their entire culture on religion and fictional 'holy' books...and I'll show you a country that's a source for crimes against humanity (terrorism, child abuse, genital mutilation, subjugation of women, etc) and other human rights violations. Yep, I'm talking about a religion that believes in the same core God story you do (they just have a different Prophet). Much of the world is moving beyond the delusional belief in Gods. For example, most of Europe is already secular. And of course, there's billions of Chinese who don't believe any of the ludicrous God stories from the West.

@jamesmiller3098 ..Good point. But I remind you Jefferson rejected the Christian story later in his life. While he didn't formally admit he was an atheist, he sure ticked off a lot of people with a belief system that's very similar: Deism. (By the way, if you haven't already figured it out, I'm best described as an Anti-Theist. I think organized religion and the delusional belief in Gods is a poison on humanity)

@johnnysupreme5718 ...I'll grant that religion was a reasonably-positive force in the development of past cultures and societies. For example, ancient Eqypt worshipped multiple Gods that were all about values. And ancient Mesopotamia, Persia, Greece, and Rome had multiple Gods that were all about morals and ethics. But ancient civilizations didn't need God stories for ethics and values. For example, ancient China's philosophical leaders (i.e. Confucious) brought humanity such great ethical concepts as the "Golden Rule" (later copied into the 'Ten Commandments". We clearly don't need God stories and organized religion to be a functional society. The good news is the number of Americans that don't believe in a God is dropping, despite the ongoing effort of religious parents to brainwash their children. Bottom line, I'll never understand why people still believe God stories from a point in human history we thought the sun revolved around the earth. (think about that)

@russian beaches ..There's a few people in this section who definitely take any mention of a "God" very literally. We need more people (like you) to think figuratively or in the abstract.
1
@johnnysupreme5718 ..Although we'll need to disagree on the main subject (I think religion and the God delusion has no place in a functional society), I respect your knowledge on the topic. And I congratulate you for an ability to have an adult discussion. Thumbs up. Have a good one, I wish you all the best.

And Democrat leaders and media used the exact same kind of rhetoric (i.e. "fight for justice"). Funny how they don't think that incited the BLM and Antifa riots and murders.

@ricobuttonpusher7061 ..When Hillary repeatedly said the 2016 election was "stolen" and Trump was an "illegitimate" President, was she trying to incite rioters in a coup? And during the BLM and Antifa riots last year, Democrat leaders and media talked about "keep fighting for justice" and said things like "who says protests have to be peaceful". Should they have been charged with incitement? If no, why not?
