A few points on this announcement: 1. Obama was close to making the same announcement but was concerned about issues with Syria. 2. There's about 20,000 Syrians (called 'Druze') living in the Golan Heights with dual citizenship. They enjoy the great social benefits of Israel and provide exports of agricultural products to Syria. They're probably celebrating this move. 3. Trump's got the guts to do what previous Presidents promised but didn't carry out...such as moving the embassy and finally recognizing Israel's rightful claim on Golan.
