I was thinking of Obama signing the economy-killing Paris Climate Accord by EO)

Not since 1888 has a new member of the SCOTUS been confirmed in an election year when the Presidency and Senate are controlled by opposite parties, as was the case in 2016. The GOP currently has the Presidency and the Senate so it's smart to fill Ginsburg's vacancy.

It helps explain his rationale for blocking Obama in 2016 and clarifies why he feels completely justified to proceed with confirming Barrett. Bottom line, the GOP is smart (and completely within the spirit of the Constitution) to proceed filling Ginsburg's vacancy. And that bugs the hell out of Democrats. But I'm sure you're more irritated at Ginsburg's stupidity not retiring many years ago during Obama's second term, all the Dems currently contradicting what they said years ago, and Harry Reid helping to eliminate the Filibuster. It's best you just accept the situation.
