  2.  Mr. Pink  ..The definition of a cult is: "a system of religious veneration and devotion directed toward a particular figure or object". This definition fits perfectly for Christianity. And Islam. And Scientology. And Hinduism. And Mormonism. And....I hope you get the point. I know the word has a negative connotation. But facts are important in life.

  3. I don't believe any of the various God stories. But I think a monument erected 100 years ago can be 'grandfathered' in and allowed to stay. I think of it as a symbol of a time when superstition and ridiculous stories from ancient times were still relevant

  5.  Mr. Pink ..Let's bottom-line this chat. While I don't share the superstitious beliefs implied by the cross symbol, I fully support the monument staying. We'll need to disagree on the use of the word cult. I think it's an apt description of Christianity. And all other religions.
