Thanks for the smile. A perfect analogy.

According to the CDC, between 20,000 and 40,000 have died from the seasonal flu (influenza) this year, including over 100 children. Have some perspective people. Be smart, be safe...but the sky isn't falling.

John Sabp ...It's a killer virus, no doubt. But we won't ever have an accurate picture on its mortality rate. It's estimated that hundreds of thousands have had the virus and recovered, without ever being tested...and thus never registered as an official case. Therefore, we know this pandemic will have a massive spread in assumed deaths. This is much like the Swine Flu pandemic 10 years ago, which officially killed between about 150,000 and 575,000 globally. That 425,000 difference is quite telling.

It's estimated there's over 100 million Americans who still believe in a "God". And there's 10s of millions who still think 'Adam and Eve' were the first humans. And millions who still think the Noah's Ark story is an actual event in human history. C'mon people....is that hard to figure out why so many ignore facts and logic with every new pandemic?

Robert Shipley ....Do you believe there could be an invisible Pink Unicorn in the sky who is responsible for creating the universe and life? If no, why not?

The fundamental problem with any mortality rate data for the China Virus is it's only based on those who've been tested. It's estimated there's been hundreds of thousands worldwide who've had the virus and recovered...without ever being registered as a case. Those citing mortality rates of 3% (or an even more ridiculous 10%), really need to realize the massive flaw in the math.

@RCmack ..Exactly. There's deaths from flu-related complications daily. But I don't want people to get me wrong...this virus is a killer and we must remain vigilant with country-wide and world-wide mitigation efforts for the foreseeable future.
