It's the second time the Democrats have abused Congressional powers and crapped on the Constitution with an impeachment: 1. Trump's first impeachment was 100% partisan (the first in history) and didn't involve an actual crime. 2. Trump's second impeachment was the first in history without any investigations or hearings.

Aside from the fact Trump clearly said he wanted a "peaceful" protest, I think Alan Dershowitz said it best: "Nothing the President said constituted unprotected incitement, as narrowly defined by the Supreme Court over nearly a century of decisions. His volatile words plainly fell on the side of "political advocacy", which is protected speech."

@fademejake ..You're making presumptions. Try to look at just the facts. Based on what we know thus far, many of the idiots and losers who stormed the Capitol were there for themselves, not Trump. In other words, they were looking for an excuse to cause mayhem. Blaming Trump for their actions is exactly like blaming Hillary for anti-Trump and leftist riots in the past few years. She has repeatedly said Trump is an 'illegitimate" President and the 2016 election was "stolen". Using your logic, those words be construed as incitement of violence.

Cassidy McNamara ...#1 is true. The impeachment vote in the House was 100% partisan. In fact, there was also 2 Democrats who voted against impeachment. They saw through Pelosi and Schiff's lies and political games. And while you're right that Trump's second impeachment was the most bipartisan in history, my point is there was no investigation or hearings. It was a meaningless vote based on emotion, not facts. McCarthy spoke at great length on this concept when he voted no.

@brandonb.5304 ...The two direct charges in the first impeachment: 1. Abuse of power. 2. Obstruction of Congress. Neither is a crime. The wording used to describe the charges is irrelevant. The Democrats failed miserably in the hearings. For comparison, the two impeachment charges against Bill Clinton during his bipartisan impeachment were actual crimes: 1. Perjury, which is not only a crime but a felony. 2. Obstruction of Justice.

@brandonb.5304 ...You're right, there's no mention of investigations or hearings in the Constitution. But Democrats (and 10 Republicans) ignored this basic principle of justice in the House. It's like a murderer being sent straight to a jury trial without any opportunity to defend themselves or offer evidence in the discovery stage. The Democrats were warned by Constitutional lawyers in the the first impeachment they must be VERY careful with the impeachment powers of the House. They weren't listening. Trump's legacy remains solid. The impeachments are meaningless and only serve as a brutal legacy for Pelosi and all the other Democrats who abused Congressional powers and crapped on the Constitution.
