Great stories. The first guy had the benefit of a VERY large lot around his home which proves that fire barriers work. And he was smart to ensure he didn't have trees and shrubs or other accelerants adjacent his home. His roof-top sprinkler system is probably very rare in that area. The second guy appears a bit luckier but also made some good decisions.
