Thanks for your service. But we'll need to disagree. NFL players are free to peacefully protest or express their opinions the other 23 hours, 58 minutes of the day the anthem isn't being played. It's not 'moral courage' to be paid millions and know hundreds of cameras are pointed at you because of your job or celebrity.

Also, the anti-Trump cult likely skews views/likes for 'trending'. And lets face it,...the comment sections for Meyers or Colbert's politically- biased 'comedy' has created a whole Youtube sub-culture. It's a culture where ignorance reigns. And where any regurgitated, copy-paste anti-Trump comment is guaranteed to be 'liked' and become "top". These vids are where kids and adults with low self-esteem come for meaningless recognition. Made worse by the fact Youtube disabled the thumbs-down icon for primary comments...year ago.

To the many people who responded directly to my comment above. I'm saying that protests are ok. It's one of the things what makes America great. People can march down the middle of the street, I encourage it. And we all can disagree with what they're saying, counter-protest,,etc.... BUT I think the anthem is not for personal opinions. Where would it end? If a Hispanic player is upset at 'racial injustice', is it ok for them to kneel? If a player is upset at a supreme court decision on (pick any topic), is it ok for them to kneel? If a player is irritated that others are kneeling, can he kneel to protest the protest? Again...where does it end. The examples are endless. The point I'm making is there's plenty of time and place to peacefully protest. It's not during a 2 minute ceremony to show respect for the country and military. I loved Steelers coach Mike Tomlin's comment. He essentially said exactly what I... and many are saying....the anthem isn't for protests.

You're right. It was sad to see the Steelers stay in their locker room for the anthem... while the one military veteran on their team had to watch the anthem from the tunnel.

Nothing to do with Trump...Jones was smart...he did it prior to the anthem. He won't say it... but I guarantee he wouldn't accept one of his players disrespecting the flag and military during the anthem. The players with a 'cause' can protest all they want...the anthem isn't the time and place.

And thus-far in 2017 there's been 730 people killed by cops (source, Washington Post). Whites, Hispanics, and other comprise over 76%, blacks 23%. Why aren't white/hispanic football players kneeling to protest this blatant racism!?

No, he's just saying what millions are thinking: protest all you want, for whatever your cause is...just not during the anthem.
