I question India's priorities. With hundreds of millions living in brutal poverty without clean water and access to basic services such as toilets, is spending $Billions trying a completely redundant mission to the moon a good idea?

@coderx5211 ..Yes, I understand that space exploration and fighting poverty are two different things. But when it comes to priorities for a country's expenditures, I think it's idiotic to spend $Billions on a redundant mission to the moon. There's pretty much nothing more for humanity to learn from the moon. I'm in American but see the horror stories of poverty, disease, over population, and pollution in India and shake my head at their priorities. And the country's actions are affecting the rest of the world in terms of air pollution and poisoning the ocean. Lastly, please provide facts to support the claim "The ISRO is funding itself"?

@reactfun1740 ..Aside from your sarcasm and misplaced ad-hominem attacks, your comment is excellent. Thank you. If you read my original comment again you'll note I simply asked the question if a mission to the moon is a good idea in relation to India's brutal poverty and environmental issues. From your comment and others, I've now learned that the ISRO is essentially a SpaceX (not a NASA) and makes $Billions in revenue. Good to know. And I've learned that they're important for India in many other ways. So thanks for that education. Regarding America's problems, I agree we have some major issues. But that's a separate discussion and not a debate intended by my comment. I wish India, and you, all the best. I see passion and pride in its citizens, and that's a very good thing.

@Bvb Bvb..Good to hear. But I'll bet many in India wish the country was only investing in battling poverty, disease, water issues etc instead of wasting money on a redundant (for humanity) mission to the moon.
