I like to make evolution simple for religious people. Our tailbone, wisdom teeth, hair follicles everywhere, and muscles to move our ears are proof we’ve evolved.

It’s really tough being an atheist conservative sometimes.

@marirooney9910 Look up the definition of a scientific theory. It’s something supported with evidence. Evolution is the only theory for our existence supported with evidence. Mountains of it.
4
@marirooney9910 I'm completely open to another explanation for our existence...if it's supported with evidence. Our reality is defined by what we know to be true (such as evolution) not what we hope is true.
4
Einstein also said that people shouldn’t take everything in the Bible literally.
2
Yep. And when we see the Andromeda galaxy in the night sky we’re seeing what it looked like 2 million years ago.
2
If we were “created” as humans why do some people have Neanderthal DNA? hmmm
2
@nottakumi1226 Congrats. You gave the most honest and coherent response to that question I’ve ever heard.
2
Lookup the definition of a scientific theory. It’s something that is supported with evidence. Einstein’s theory (e=mc2) is also still called a theory even though it’s been proven.

@ericseitzler81 We didn’t come from monkeys. We share a common ancestor with them.
1
@ericseitzler81 They are not our ancestors. Again, we share a common ancestor with them, which is why we share over 90% of the same DNA. If we "came from monkeys" we'd share 100%. Various species of monkey have been around for over 50 million years.

Were there dinosaurs on the Ark?
1
There’s indeed mountains of evidence for evolution. You just choose not to read it. I’ll offer you some simpler evidence you can understand: our tailbone, wisdom teeth, hair follicles everywhere, and muscles to move our ears are proof we evolved from different life forms.
1
Yep. And according to millions of Christians they were on the Ark. It's the only way the story can work.
1
I recently had someone who believes the Ark story tell me there were dinosaurs on the Ark. You can’t make this stuff up.
1
Still waiting for someone who think we appeared out of thin air (or in the case of Eve out a piece of bone) to show a shred of evidence.
1
Me too. It’s hard being an atheist conservative sometimes. It’s mind boggling they still believe these ancient stories.
1
Based on your comment it appears you understand life began with single cell organisms billions of years ago. That’s a start. If you want to believe your God initiated the chemical reaction among common elements to create those first life forms that’s fine. But denying evolution from that point forward is denying mountains of evidence.
1
It was debunked. Noah’s Ark is just a copy of old flood myths. Never happened.
1
We don’t know what caused the Big Bang and never will. Attributing what we don’t know to the supernatural is illogical.
1
Please look up the definition of a scientific theory. It's something supported with facts and evidence. We still call Einstein's theory a theory even though it's been proven. Evolution is the same.
1
We use radiometric dating and the decay of elements to measure the age of rock. It's very accurate. We know the earth is over 4 billion years old.
1
I love when they say “But evolution is just a theory”. I tell them to look up the definition of a scientific theory. It’s something supported with evidence.
1
We’re a different species of ape, as are gorillas, orangutans, etc. We all share a common ape ancestor.
1
Are you saying it's possible we were intelligently designed by a magical all-powerful invisible Pink Unicorn in the sky?
1
@machellepate5786 C’mon man the “If we came from monkeys why are there still monkeys” is an argument from decades ago. We share a common ape ancestor with monkeys.
1
Why do you think we share over 90% of our DNA with monkeys?
1
It’s absolutely settled science. I think you need to do some reading on the scientific proof of evolution.
1
@davidickes4621 If you've been debating the issue for years you know you can't win. How about this.... please provide all the scientific evidence for the Christian creation story of Adam and Eve. Please be specific on where, when and how it happened.
1
@davidickes4621 Lol you clearly don’t know how to properly debate. Look up Grahams Hierarchy of Disagreement. You’re residing exclusively at Level 4 —- Contradiction. To effectively debate you must offer a Counterargument (Level 5) with supporting evidence. What exactly is your counterargument for evolution? Please be specific and provide evidence. Otherwise you lose my friend.
1
@davidickes4621 You’ve apparently debated this topic for years so you’ve heard all the evidence. It’s overwhelming. DNA, transitional fossils, vestigial remnants in our bodies (i.e. our tailbone, wisdom teeth, hair follicles everywhere, and muscles to move our ears) and radiometric dating proving the earth is over 4 billion years old. I also assume you’ve heard about fossils of life forms going back over 3 billion years and the fact some people have Neanderthal DNA. Repeating all this evidence should be redundant to you so quit asking. And don’t just provide contradiction and the “God of the Gaps” fallacy. You’ll embarrass yourself. By the way, we don’t know what caused the Big Bang and don’t know what existed prior. However saying “something came from nothing” is illogical because clearly the universe is filled with matter from the Big Bang. Ok, moving on. Still waiting for your counter argument (with evidence) to evolution. I’ll wait.
