It appears many in the comment section have missed an important part of this story: "PM Modi has said that the water is wasted since it is used by neither India, nor Pakistan and flows into the sea." That seems like a very pragmatic reason to divert the water. For example, the mighty Colorado river is just a trickle by time it reaches the sea. It's smart management of a precious resource.

Trump's approach to the issue has been well balanced. He's been diplomatic with the "I wish Iran would just give me a call"... and has also made it crystal clear with military moves they better not mess with America or its allies/interests.

@FinalBossWTMN ..I'm glad you read the article. My point is similar to the original comment: don't panic, the sky isn't falling. Media and the climate alarmists never talk about events that don't fit the narrative. It's important to bring them up for discussion.

@Ram Arya..Thank you for the great insights and history. I'm an American but am always curious about what's happening throughout the world. I did some research on the Indus Treaty yesterday. The history of it's development in the 60s over years of negotiations between Pakistan and India is fascinating and a story unto itself. And as you point out, there's flaws in the treaty and how it's been used by India. The current administration is smart to protect such a precious resource to the maximum extent allowed under the treaty. And I'm a bit biased on this issue...but Pakistan's support for terrorism cannot be tolerated. India can and should retaliate in many ways other than war.

@scottgillam2566 ..I agree the Jesus character is a fictional figure copied from previous myths and used for control. But there's strong archaeological evidence he was a real man, as another comment in this section cites. Why this particular Jew became the face of the Christian cult remains a huge mystery. Whenever I discuss the God delusion and the scourge of religion with believers, I always acknowledge there's some historical facts sprinkled into their fictional stories.

It's mind boggling that some world cultures remain so archaic. And we can't even directly link the "Talaq" practice to the God-delusion or the ridiculous fictional book, the Quran (there's no mention of it). However, the practice is clearly related to the Muslim culture's ongoing subjugation and abuse of girls and women.

fafar gol ..Which has nothing to do with the need for Iran to take a diplomatic approach. It will not end well for them if they continue to defy UN sanctions. As Trump has said repeatedly, they could be a very strong country economically if they simply realize they can never have nuclear weapons.

Let's bottom line this chat....I have one simple question for you: Do you agree Iran can never have nuclear weapons? If no, please explain why you think they need them?

fafar gol ..While they may have stated as such their actions are contradictory. For example, threatening to surpass their enriched uranium limits and other rhetoric. We are in complete agreement on the end goal of this whole situation: Iran can never have nuclear weapons. Now, if only they'd admit it, dismantle their entire enrichment infrastructure, and allow UN inspectors to confirm. They'd then get the crippling sanctions lifted and go on to be an economic power. It's so simple.
