3:00…Creating a gap and letting people cross 2 or more lanes of traffic should be illegal. If they’re turning right into the curb lane, fine.

@beardedforlife3740 ..Lol, you’re either trolling me or really need to learn what an intersection is. It’s where 2 or more roads intersect. An entry onto a road from a parking lot, home, business etc is not a road. As well, if you watch the clip again you’ll see there’s an ACTUAL intersection up a ways from the stopped traffic. That’s why there’s traffic lights there. Bottom line, the car that tried to cut across 2 lanes of traffic (through a gap created by idiots) to turn left should have waited for the traffic to clear. Also note they were given a ticket. If they had the right of way (as you incorrectly claim) that never would’ve happened.

@sophwitchproject ..That's what I meant. Letting them turn right is fine but doing what's shown in the clip is idiotic. They gave a ticket to the car trying to go through the gap but should also give one to the people who gave them the opening to try the dumb move.

@beardedforlife3740 ..Um, you said “you can’t block an intersection” in your first comment. That implies you think the vehicle cutting through the gap had the right of way. It didn’t. Moreover, the vehicles who created the gap didn’t have to do so, which is why the vehicle coming out of the parking lot/ business area was given a ticket and not them. Do me a favour and look up “Definition of an Intersection for Traffic”. You’ll learn it doesn’t include entry points onto main roads from parking lots, businesses, homes etc. I won’t be replying to any more comments. Have a good one.

@beardedforlife3740 ..It’s very concerning you think vehicles who created the gap were “abiding by the law”! There is no such law. You DO NOT have to create gaps to let people enter a main road. And you should NEVER allow them to cross lanes of traffic, like was shown in the clip. Letting someone turn right to get in front of you in the same lane is polite…but ONLY if traffic isn’t moving. In summary, I trust you’ve learned a couple important things in our chat today that will make you a better driver…and may save lives: 1. An intersection is defined as a point where 2 or more main roads meet. An entry onto a main road from a parking lot, business or driveway is NOT an intersection. 2. There is NO LAW requiring you to create a gap in traffic to let someone enter a main road from a parking lot, business or driveway. Glad to have educated you. I may have saved you from getting someone killed by thinking you’re “abiding by the law” by creating a gap in traffic like you saw in the clip. Maybe go back and watch the clip once again so you fully understand how stupid and dangerous it is to create gaps.

@beardedforlife3740 …There is no law in any state indicating you have to create a gap for vehicles to enter main roadways from parking lots, businesses, driveways etc. You’re claiming something that’s factually incorrect. It’s also incredibly illogical to think that it’s somehow impeding traffic by not creating gaps. What impedes traffic is accidents…like what happens when idiots create gaps for vehicles to cross over lanes of traffic, as shown in the video clip! Again, it’s very concerning you think there’s a law like this. You’re going to get someone killed by creating gaps and letting vehicles cross lanes of traffic. Please educate yourself on the the rules of the road. And you really need to watch the video clip again for what NOT to do.

@beardedforlife3740 …sigh. Why do I feel like I’m being trolled? Please read the law…all of it. It doesn’t say what you think it does. If “stopping, standing or parking” fit the criteria you’re imagining you basically couldn’t stop your vehicle anywhere! The intention of that law is for parking, not stopping temporarily in traffic. Using that knowledge, please look at the scenario in the video. Traffic is stopped temporarily because of a red light and is backed up quite a ways. By your logic, no one can block the entry point the vehicle was using. That’s incorrect…they can. A few idiots created a gap and you saw the result. Again dude…you really need to learn about the rules of the road.

@beardedforlife3740 …Lol, you’re wrong and are having great difficulty admitting it. Again…read the full law you referenced. You’re not understanding its meaning. Using your incorrect interpretation of what it means, it would ban stopping your vehicle within 5 feet of a fire hydrant. It would also ban stopping within 10 feet of a stop sign and 50 feet of a railway crossing. Use your head. That’s not only illogical, it’s impossible. It’s ok to admit when you’re wrong. I do it all the time. You need to just accept you misunderstood the laws of the road, just like you didn’t know what an intersection was. Lastly, make sure you use your new-found knowledge on the proper traffic laws and don’t create unsafe gaps that might get someone killed. Have a good one.
