  1. I fully support peaceful protests. As suggested in the vid commentary, many of those causing mayhem are distracting from the movement. France needs to send serious deterrents by jailing rioters for extended periods, taking away their passports (I'll bet some are professional protesters who travel a lot), and forcing them to pay for all damages to property. Whether one agrees with the reason for the protests or not is irrelevant to the principle of maintaining law and order.
