I too question the accuracy of polls. Especially when you consider the methodology for this recent one (link to full survey below): 1. Only 1,009 Americans were polled. Of these, 920 were registered voters. 2. Of those, 739 said they were "likely to vote". 3. There's information in the survey on race and age but no information (I could find) on the States called. 4. Among those called (1,009 people), 31% described themselves as Democrats, 25% described themselves as Republicans, and 44% described themselves as independents or members of another party. http://cdn.cnn.com/cnn/2018/images/10/09/rel9b.-.2018.midterms.pdf
