Sort of. They lied-by-omission by not pointing out the "record" temperatures are only based on about 100 years of data. People need to be spoon fed this fact so they don't continue to blame normal weather events on the climate change boogeyman.

A reminder to those who buy into the sky-is-falling rhetoric from the climate change alarmists: Any "record" temperature is based on about 100 years of data...on a 4.5 billion year old planet.

@erector5953 ..Incorrect. The data you heard in the story was based in about 100 years of record keeping. Remember...any time you hear reference to a "record", or the other often-used terms from media and the climate alarmist cult such as "historic" or "all-time worst", it's based on a tiny, tiny percentage of the earth's history. As well, the parts of North America experiencing "record" low temperatures would have been much colder during the "Mini Ice Age" about 500 years ago. And I encourage you to remember that climate change has been occurring for billions of years. While human activity is a factor, it's not the only one. Hence, the massive shifts such as the "Medieval Warming Period", followed by the aforementioned Mini Ice Age. We need to be more responsible with pollution but the climate will change (and new "records" will be always be set) regardless of what we do.

@erector5953 .I encourage you to look up the term "Confirmation Bias". It's what you're basing your information on. And it's what most "scientists" are basing their well-funded "conclusions" on. As well, ice cores and other science tell us there's been times in earth's history with FAR more carbon in the atmosphere than today. Hmmm...How did it get there? As I said, I agree we have to be more responsible with pollution. But there's zero scientific consensus humanity is entirely responsible for recent shifts in climate. And remember, the current shifts are quite small compared to previous global changes. You should also do some research on the doomsday predictions made by "scientists" in the 70s, 80s and 90s regarding global cooling, warming, ice-caps melting, massive increases in sea level, etc etc. None of the doomsday predictions made in those decades have come true. Lastly, I encourage you to resist the brainwashing from the climate alarmist cults. (And please read comments carefully before replying. My comment on the "100 years of data" was regarding the weather records reported in the vid, not climate data.)
